The Ultimate Diver Challenge is currently exploring and opening the opportunity for a new location to produce a second season of the Ultimate Diver Challenge! The 13 week Series was aired on VERSUS TV/NBC Sports for twenty six weeks straight and viewed by over 1.7 million viewers during the first 13 weeks in the top fifty cities.

In this episode, divers revisit the challenges through the evaluation of scores highlighting the strengths and weaknesses that bring us the finale! Ten divers left but only ONE will be given the title of the ULTIMATE DIVER!

For the first time in the history of scuba diving and of television there is now a competitive scuba reality TV show centered on the skills of scuba diving, the “Ultimate Diver Challenge." After four years of many challenges, the show is now being aired on VERSUS TV every Friday morning and the ratings are off to a very good start from what I have seen! It is exciting to offer a sports reality show to a new and enthusiastic audience of scuba curious people that are intrigued by the world underwater. In addition, we have certainly caught the attention of scuba divers along with travel and sports enthusiasts...

Why the Challenge?
Five years ago, I began the adventure of creating the Ultimate Diver Challenge! My huge commitment and devotion for the people of Cozumel and Scuba Diving, coupled with my love for reality television shows, inspired the idea of "The Ultimate Diver Challenge."

Finally, after 4 successful years, the Ultimate Diver Challenge premiers on Versus Television network as the first ever Scuba Reality Show where divers see if they have what it takes to be the "best of the best" in scuba diving. Divers compete team against team in challenges that are designed to test knowledge, buoyancy, navigation, safety, search, stress, and rescue skills through precision and accuracy.

Divers face the reality of what it takes to be "the best of the best" in scuba diving. Viewers see firsthand what it takes to be a diver as divers are eliminated after failing the underwater courses laced with tasks and obstacles. Focus, endurance, strength and skill will determine who will become the "Ultimate Diver"!

Hi-Definition Action as scuba divers from around the world compete in underwater challenges designed to test their ability to work in teams showcasing scuba skills. Teams battle to become one of the top ten divers as each show off knowledge, buoyancy control, navigational and rescue skills while production captures the beauty and mystery of the underwater world. The top ten divers are identified in two sessions filmed in Cozumel, Mexico one of the most popular tropical diving destinations in crystal clear water! Once the top ten divers are identified, divers battle on to compete individually to seek the title of the "Ultimate Diver".

Divers are left dazed and confused as they struggle to overcome surprises and unexpected twists and turns that await them. Experienced divers become snagged and entangled, have to deal with "black out" conditions, and struggle to remain cool while lost underwater, running short of air as they battle one another while fighting currents and overcoming the obstacles that are unique to each of the challenges. Teams are not prepared, equipment fails, and teams struggle to earn the title. Fatigue, dehydration, nitrogen narcosis and safety violations eliminate divers at any one moment. Steve Hanneman is thrilled to be the host of 'The Ultimate Diver Challenge'. An avid sports enthusiast and certified advanced Open Water scuba diver himself, Steve brings unique experience and his trademark personality to this groundbreaking new Sports Reality show.

Steve originally competed in the Sports Entertainment arena with 'The American Gladiators' under the call sign Maverick. A series favorite, he was subsequently invited back to host the show and commentate the live play-by-play action. Steve is also an accomplished Hollywood stuntman, always fascinated by the concept of constantly putting his body in harms way! In addition to television and movie stunts, Steve's most critical acclaim remains for jumping the infamous 'Batmobile' over a perilous 22-foot concrete embankment.

Steve Hanneman, the host, is best known to television audiences for his hit show 'Hammer Heads', as well as for 'Designed to Sell' and 'Deconstruction'. His shows have been distributed to more than 91 million households in the USA and in over 126 territories worldwide.

2010 UDC...WHAT A YEAR!!! ... 8/6/10

This Year's ULTIMATE DIVER CHALLENGE was the most exciting yet! Over one hundred in attendance that included the dive teams, fans, fun divers, friends, family, support and production crew! 28 Divers took the challenge and the winner has already been determined. All details will be revealed through the TV show that is scheduled to air January 2011. Stay tuned for future announcements regarding post production and show schedule! Divers are already booking for next year! A big thank you to the many supporters of the event.
